Indomie, Kokun Foundation unite to combat hunger in Nigeria

In a concerted effort to tackle hunger across Nigeria, Dufil Prima Foods, the manufacturer of Indomie Instant Noodles, has teamed up with the Kokun Foundation Food Bank, a non-governmental organisation, to provide essential support to vulnerable communities.

Through a recent distribution event held in the Ojodu area of Lagos State, thousands of individuals grappling with economic hardship were granted reprieve as cartons of Indomie Noodles were generously distributed.

The collaboration between Indomie and the Foundation underscores a shared commitment to addressing the pressing issue of hunger within the region. 

Regarding the event, Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager for Indomie Noodles, reaffirmed the brand’s dedication to uplifting the underprivileged in Nigeria. 

He emphasised that initiatives like this distribution event are pivotal in ensuring that disadvantaged individuals have access to at least one meal a day. 

Ashiwaju also highlighted the broader mission of Indomie to feed over one million underprivileged Nigerians nationwide.

The impact of the donation was palpable as beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Indomie and the Kokun Foundation for their benevolence. 

Mrs. Doris, a mother of triplets from the Ojodu community, conveyed her appreciation for the timely assistance amidst challenging economic circumstances. 

She remarked, “We are very grateful to Indomie and Kokun Foundation for this donation. Things have not been easy due to the current price hike everywhere but thanks to Indomie and the Kokun Foundation, we have hope things will get better for us.”

The sentiment was echoed by numerous recipients who lauded the initiative for bringing hope and relief to their lives. 

The founder of the Kokun Foundation, Olukokun Adepeju, expressed pride in the organization’s mission to alleviate hunger and support the most vulnerable in society. 

He affirmed the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to serving as a beacon of hope for those in need, emphasising the importance of collective efforts in times of adversity.

The collaboration between Indomie and the Kokun Foundation serves as a poignant reminder of the transformative power of corporate partnerships and community-driven initiatives in addressing food insecurity.
